This statement from Rimlox LLC. addresses past manufacturing delays and customer order inquiries. As the CEO and inventor of the Rimlox wheel locking system, I want to provide clarity regarding our company history, product purpose, and our ongoing manufacturing challenges and solutions.

Company Background & Product Inception

My name is Chris Mitchell, CEO of Rimlox LLC. Originally from Illinois and currently residing in Tampa, Florida, I attended Kaskaskia Junior College and Greenville University before enlisting in the U.S. Navy in 1995. I served aboard the USS Gettysburg (CG-64), deployed to the Persian Gulf with the USS Enterprise Battle Group, and participated in Coast Guard drug interdiction operations before receiving an honorable discharge in 1999. Most recently, I auditioned for Shark Tank and am currently in the final stages of the selection process. However, one of my greatest accomplishments to date was receiving the Medal of Valor from the city of Tampa for pulling a woman from a burning car and bringing her back to life.

Following my military service, I remained in Florida and moved to the Tampa Bay area where i worked as a department supervisor for defense contractor Raytheon, managing the T3 program—a $555 million government project developing U.S. Marine satellite systems for military vehicles. During this time, my personal vehicle was targeted, and my aftermarket wheels were stolen despite being equipped with standard wheel locks. Motivated to find a real solution, I engineered a unique locking system designed to offer absolute factory and aftermarket wheel and tire protection. Through years of rigorous testing, I developed a design that has not been defeated or compromised to date. (2000-Present)

Product Design and Purpose

The Rimlox wheel locking system was engineered to eliminate the vulnerabilities found in standard wheel locks. Designed to prevent theft entirely, the product has successfully protected thousands of customer wheels since its inception in 2000 without a single recorded compromise. Our core purpose remains providing vehicle owners with a definitive option for absolute wheel protection.

Manufacturing Challenges and delays

Transitioning from a prototype to full-scale production over the years has presented significant manufacturing challenges such: The original machinist unexpectedly passed, COVID, Supply chain disruptions, steel delivery. Furthermore, our orders were delayed due to issues with third-party machine shops that failed to follow the provided drawings, their employees performing subpar work, misaligned machinery, and unauthorized design changes and more.

Responsibility and Accountability

I/we as a company have taken complete responsibility of the delays and own every late order, just as we own every single successful set of wheels and tires protected over the years for our customerd. To resolve these issues, as of May 2026 we have purchased our own CNC lathe and CNC mill. This investment allows us to bring manufacturing in-house, improve product quality, stabilize pricing, and better manage inventory. We are now back on track with production and are able to maintain a 1-3 week lead time.
